Job summary

The New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) IT & Telecom division is seeking a junior-level network engineer to assist with daily administration of the DOT network, focusing on field Office network operations. You will work under the Director of Infrastructure Services and collaborate with the Network Infrastructure team to ensure secure, reliable connectivity across 80 sites and 400+ devices.

Ideal candidates have CCNA-level knowledge, a foundational understanding of network standards,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years of LAN/WAN experience, or equivalent education/experience.
• High school diploma with six years IT experience as alternative.
• Equivalent education/experience; 30 credits = 6 months; master's may substitute for one year of experience.
• One year of IT experience as described above is required.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain DOT network devices and security baselines.
• Monitor incidents and resolve network issues across DOT sites.
• Document current network architecture and update as changes occur.
• Travel to remote sites as required.
