Job summary

Beam in San Francisco is building out GPU-backed data center capacity and seeks an hands-on Network Engineer to stand up the infrastructure and drive deployments to completion.

You will deploy network gear, validate fiber links, coordinate cabling, and collaborate across DC Operations, ICT, Hardware, and Network Engineering to keep multi‑team deployments on track. Travel 50–60% is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on data center network engineering experience.
• Experience with EVPN/VXLAN, BGP, and CLOS fabrics.
• Ability to troubleshoot optical layer: OTDR, insertion loss, and fiber links.
• Clear communication and documentation across teams.
• Willingness to travel 50–60% for onsite deployments.
• Bonus: AI fabric turn-up experience and automation tooling.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and validate data center network infrastructure (front‑end, back‑end, BMS, management).
• Configure switches, install optics, coordinate cabling, drive deployments to completion.
• Ensure production standards for fiber remediation and OTDR traces.
• Manage hardware logistics: staging, racks, RMA, inventory, vendor shipments.
• Collaborate with DC Operations, ICT, Hardware, and Network Engineering to remove blockers.
• Maintain cutsheets, as‑builts, validation results, and deployment playbooks.
• Provide on-site/remote support during deployments: incident response and break‑fix.
