City and County of Denver seeks a Mountain Parks Natural Resources Technician I to support forestry and natural resources operations within the Denver Mountain Parks system. The role covers field assessments, restoration work, and collaboration with multiple agencies to sustain park ecosystems.

Ideal candidates bring forestry/natural resources knowledge, strong communication, and a valid driver’s license. This is an on-call, on-site position with a daytime schedule and 457b retirement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 1 year urban/rural habitat management experience.
• Valid Driver's License; licenses/certifications kept current as a condition of employment.
• Colorado pesticide applicator license and chainsaw certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Manage mountain parks to protect forests and wildlife and control noxious weeds.
• Conduct site assessments, evaluations, and restoration projects for ecological sustainability.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple agencies and groups.
• Assist with data collection (GPS, GIS, FVS, Survey123) and prepare program reports.
• Perform habitat restoration, including planting, seeding, fencing, and signs.
