Job summary

ConocoPhillips in Mentone, Texas seeks a field-based Lease Operator (Multi-Skill Operator) to manage daily field operations, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure safe, reliable production across wells and facilities. The role emphasizes mechanical aptitude, learning, and hands-on problem solving in outdoor environments.

Experience in oil and gas is a plus but not required; company-provided training supports growth.

Qualifications

• Legally allowed to work in the United States.
• Current/valid driver’s license.
• 1+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance, equipment operation, or inspection.
• Able to meet the physical demands and working conditions described.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field operations across assigned wells and facilities in the Mentone area, monitoring equipment and production performance.
• Inspect tanks, meters, separators, compressors, and pipelines to identify and prevent leaks or issues.
• Gauge tanks to measure crude oil and water levels for safe and efficient transfers.
• Operate and troubleshoot compressors, gas lift wells, sand traps, and flowback equipment.
• Maintain chemical injection rates and execute well start-up/shut-in procedures.
• Enter and validate production data in digital systems to support reporting and decision-making.
• Participate in facility walk-throughs, safety reviews, and regulatory documentation.
• Update piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs) and site security documentation.
• Respond to alarms and fulfill on-call duties to minimize downtime.
• Apply all safety, environmental, and company policies to protect personnel, assets, and the environment.
