Job summary

AnnieMac Home Mortgage is seeking a Full Time External Mortgage Loan Originator to establish referral source relationships for a steady flow of loan volume from real estate brokers and other external sources. Travel is required 80% of the time and base education is a High School diploma.

You will generate new business, pre-qualify borrowers, and guide them through the mortgage process, including disclosures and closings, under the supervision of the Branch Manager.

Qualifications

• State license or certificate required (varies by state).
• Strong knowledge of pricing and underwriting requirements for mortgage products.
• Working knowledge of credit underwriting and property eligibility for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and private investors.
• Familiarity with local, state and national laws (e.g. Truth-in-Lending, RESPA).
• Excellent communication and financial analysis skills.
• Sales-oriented self-starter with self-motivation.

Responsibilities

• Sell mortgage loans to customers away from and outside AnnieMac Home Mortgage offices.
• Build and maintain relationships with realtors, real estate agents, title/escrow officers, financial advisers, CPAs and other professionals.
• Participate in mortgage sales activities such as closings, open houses, seminars and lead generation.
• Collect borrower information and complete loan applications.
• Develop referral partner relationships to generate new customers.
• Analyze income and debt to pre-qualify borrowers and determine mortgage affordability.
• Counsel borrowers on home buying and financing options and explain loan products and closing costs.
• Maintain regular contact with borrowers, realtors and lenders between application and closing.
• Order legal documents and review HUDs prior to closing.
• Provide disclosures and guidance on credit issues.
