Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. seeks a Mobile Technician II to perform intermediate maintenance and repairs on tractors, trailers, and related equipment at customer sites and rail yards using a mobile service truck. Work is performed outside the shop under routine supervision.

You will troubleshoot electrical systems, operate the service truck, document work orders, and mentor junior technicians while adhering to safety requirements across multiple shifts, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair.
• Own basic tools or purchase through toolbox program.
• Willingness to work outdoors in the elements.
• Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate maintenance and repairs on tractors, trailers, chassis, containers or power equipment.
• Troubleshoot ABS system and electrical diagnostics.
• Operate the mobile service truck and manage truck inventory.
• Assist with onboarding and mentorship of trainee technicians.
• Complete work orders and written materials per procedures.
• Document equipment damage and estimate repair costs.
• Demonstrate cutting torch and welding for mid-level repairs.
• Patch holes in trailer sides and roofs; inspect trailers per AA/FHWA standards.
