Job summary

J.B. Hunt is seeking a Mobile Technician II to perform intermediate service and repair of tractors, trailers, chassis, containers, and power equipment at customer sites or rail yards using a mobile service truck.

The role requires light to moderate transportation maintenance experience, the ability to work outdoors in the elements, and willingness to work nights or weekends when needed. Sign-on bonuses may apply for a limited time.

Qualifications

• 18–21 years old for equipment up to 10,000 lbs or 21+ with 2 years of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair
• Able to supply your own basic tools or purchase through toolbox program
• Willingness to work outdoors in the elements
• Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and weekends if needed

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate maintenance and repairs on tractors and trailers, including tires, brakes, electrical diagnostics and basic structural repairs
• Troubleshoot and repair ABS systems
• Operate mobile service truck and manage truck inventory
• Assist with onboarding and mentoring of trainees
• Complete work orders and document repairs per procedures
• Document equipment damage to estimate repair costs
• Demonstrate welding and cutting as part of mid-level repairs
• Conduct annual AA trailer and FHWA brake inspections under supervision
