Job summary

Emery Jensen Distribution seeks a Retail Sales Specialist to boost sales at independent lumberyards, paint retailers, hardware stores, and e-retailers across Oahu, including Honolulu and surrounding towns.

In this role you will execute merchandising plans, manage inventory, and support new product launches. The position requires up to 80% travel, driving a company vehicle, and lifting up to 35 pounds. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent retail experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of retail, merchandising, customer service, or related experience.
• Bachelor's degree plus 1+ year of retail experience considered equivalent.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Must reside in or near Honolulu, Oahu area.

Responsibilities

• Execute merchandising plans, planograms, and retail resets.
• Maintain in-store product presentation, pricing, signage, and promotional displays.
• Identify opportunities to improve sales, inventory turns, and category performance.
• Write and recommend product orders that support customer needs.
• Support new product introductions and store conversion initiatives.
• Partner with store teams to resolve inventory, shipping, claims, and product issues.
• Monitor and communicate sales trends, customer feedback, and market insights.
• Verify planogram accuracy and order missing items as needed.
• Assist with new store openings, special events, and promotional activities.
• Travel throughout the assigned territory to support customer locations.
