Job summary

Washington State Department of Health is seeking a Medical Test Site Surveyor to lead inspections and investigations of state-licensed and federally CLIA-certified medical testing facilities. You will review accreditation findings, perform on-site surveys, and assess proficiency testing and quality systems.

The role requires extensive clinical laboratory experience, supervisory skills, and strong regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of clinical laboratory experience in high complexity testing with supervisory, consultative, or surveying experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science or related field with six years of clinical laboratory experience and two years supervisory experience.
• Master’s degree in laboratory science or related field with four years experience and two years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan inspections/investigations by reviewing past records, laws, and regulations.
• Conduct on-site inspections and investigations focusing on CLIA compliance in WA facilities.
• Prepare written reports and present findings clearly for corrective actions.
