ROLE SUMMARY

The Oncology Field Medical Outcomes, Director is a field-based medical colleague responsible for providing therapeutic area/product expertise for a designated therapeutic in Oncology. The primary focus is on integrated customers, including but not limited to Integrated Delivery Networks, National Payers, Regional Payers, and Specialty Pharmacy Providers (SPPs). The role involves educating customers on the clinical and economic impact of Pfizer Oncology medicines and products, informing customer decision-making, and improving population health through data analyses, pharmacoeconomic evaluations, outcomes assessments, and medical presentations.

The responsibilities include planning and executing Oncology Medical strategies, developing medical content strategies, maintaining effective communication with headquarters and field colleagues, and engaging with healthcare decision-makers. The role also involves facilitating research collaborations, responding to medical inquiries, and supporting HIT initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure compliance with all SOPs/Rules/Regulations.
  • Provide objective, scientifically sound medical information regarding Pfizer’s Oncology medicines and disease states.
  • Develop and implement outcomes tools and educational programs to improve patient care and address population health.
  • Collaborate on customer-specific projects, partnerships, and non-interventional studies.
  • Serve as the Oncology Medical lead for assigned customers, developing account plans and identifying collaboration opportunities.
  • Understand study design, data analysis, and interpretation, and communicate these concepts effectively to customers.
  • Engage with stakeholders such as Quality Improvement Organizations and Advocacy Groups to align on health priorities.
  • Provide support for HIT initiatives, including assessment and development of clinical informatics resources.
  • Represent Pfizer Oncology Medical Affairs at professional associations and conferences.
  • Respond to unsolicited scientific inquiries and collaborate internally to meet data needs.
  • Maintain market and customer knowledge, manage multiple projects, and prioritize effectively.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in a health science required; PharmD, PhD preferred.
  • 8+ years relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree; fewer with higher degrees.
  • Experience in data analytics, HEOR, managed care, clinical management, or related fields.
  • Significant experience with payers and organized customers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50-60%, including overnight stays.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in Oncology field-based medical roles.
  • Expertise in healthcare data analysis, clinical informatics, or HIT systems.
  • Leadership in project management and healthcare trends understanding.
OTHER DETAILS

Position is remote and field-based, with travel requirements. Salary ranges from $169,700 to $282,900, plus bonuses and benefits. Must have a valid US driver’s license and be within a 2-hour drive of a major airport. Flexibility to work weekends and travel 40-50% of the time is required.
