Job summary

Comfort Systems USA in Auburn, AL seeks a skilled Mechanic to support mechanical service and retrofit work. You will perform sheet metal modifications, piping tasks, valve replacements, gasket work, and LOTO procedures on active job sites, rooftops, and mechanical rooms.

The role requires safety focus, the ability to read drawings, and travel to construction sites as needed. Hands-on experience in mechanical service, piping, HVAC, or industrial maintenance is preferred with proper torque

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in mechanical service, piping, HVAC, plumbing, or industrial maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, and work orders.
• Commitment to jobsite safety and LOTO procedures.
• Willingness to travel to construction sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform sheet metal modification and installation to support mechanical equipment and duct interfaces.
• Remove and replace pipe gaskets; prepare flange faces and verify fit-up and sealing surfaces.
• Complete chiller valve replacements and ensure operational checks per job requirements.
• Install flanged pipe couplings; torque to specification using appropriate tools.
• Execute LOTO: isolate equipment and verify zero-energy state per procedure.
• Read and work from job documentation to complete tasks correctly the first time.
