Job summary

Engineering Economics, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Specialist to independently perform commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and verification of mechanical systems supporting data centers and high-reliability facilities.

You will own field activities, support performance testing, coordinate issues, and help move systems through startup, testing, documentation, and closeout. This hands-on role requires field work and collaboration with project stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical systems, facilities operations, commissioning, construction, engineering, maintenance, or related environments.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, chilled water, cooling towers, pumps, air distribution, controls, and related equipment in mission-critical facilities.
• Understanding of MEP systems, controls, and integrated building operations.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, sequences of operation, submittals, and technical documentation.
• Ability to independently execute assigned technical activities while collaborating with teams.
• Strong organizational, troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and commissioning documentation tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning, testing, and verification activities for mechanical systems at mission-critical facilities.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and support resolution with project teams and contractors.
• Coordinate field activities, testing efforts, and project documentation for successful delivery.
• Review drawings, specifications, and sequences to validate installation readiness.
• Communicate status and findings with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
• Support and mentor developing commissioning professionals through field collaboration.
• Contribute to safe, reliable project execution in a fast-paced environment.
