Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Mechanical Construction Inspector to join our Construction Services Department. This role focuses on field inspections of municipal infrastructure projects in New York and New Jersey, including pump stations, bridges, and utilities.

You will identify field issues, review plans, and document activities while coordinating with owners and contractors. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of inspection experience, a high school diploma or GED (Bachelor’s in Mechanical or

Qualifications

2 years of experience inspecting construction work required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering preferred.
Trained in OSHA 10-hour construction safety preferred.

Responsibilities

Review construction plans and specifications; inspect public infrastructure projects for code compliance.
Prepare and process construction records (RFI’s, submittals, progress pay applications, change orders).
Document all field activities and coordinate with owner and contractor, representing Dewberry.
Operate with MS Word and Excel for diaries, quantity calculations, and tasks.
Identify field issues and develop solutions to keep work moving.
