Job summary

MYR Group Inc. is seeking a Field Mechanic to support our field teams across project sites in the service area. You will perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on fleet equipment, traveling locally and occasionally overnight as required.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and customer service, with a path to more advanced Fleet Department roles. The main office is in Marshalltown, IA, and you may travel within Iowa to support operations.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in mobile heavy truck repair or equipment repair.
• Trade/technical schooling in vehicle repair acceptable.
• Must be capable of operating company vehicles with valid license.

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing and repairs on fleet equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance; maintain a clean, professional service vehicle.
• Oversee less experienced mechanics when assigned.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Maintain records of time, materials, and repairs; track in software.
• Conduct safety inspections and comply with DOT, EPA, OSHA rules.
