Job summary

MYR Group, Inc. is seeking a Field Mechanic to travel to project sites across the designated service area, performing maintenance and repairs safely. You’ll support field teams, with a path toward higher-level Fleet roles and a focus on exceptional internal customer service.

The role requires travel within Wisconsin/Northern Wisconsin with occasional overnights and overtime including weekends. Company vehicle, lodging, and fuel card are provided, with main office in Plover, WI.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of experience in general mobile heavy truck repair, automotive repair, or equipment repair.
• Vocational/technical school program or apprenticeship with four years experience.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanic assignments using independent judgment and apply procedures to specific work situations.
• Service and repair fleet equipment per manufacturer guidelines and schedules.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; keep vehicle clean and professional.
• May oversee less experienced mechanics.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
• Identify mechanical problems visually or with diagnostic equipment.
• Maintain records of time, parts used, equipment condition, and repairs.
• Track repair orders and timesheets in computer systems; ensure accuracy.
• Conduct safety inspections and prepare related documentation.
• Follow DOT, EPA, OSHA and other regulations; participate in safety training.
• Maintain regular, attendance and work at designated office/field locations.
• Adhere to Code of Business Conduct and industry standards.
