Job summary

Capitol Aggregates, a division of Zachry, seeks a Field Mechanic Tech I to perform inspection, preventive maintenance, and repairs on mobile and stationary equipment across plant sites. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, safe work habits, and the ability to work independently while supporting plant operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in Diesel Mechanics highly desirable but not required.
• Valid and clean driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Travel to assigned plant locations to complete maintenance and repair work in the field.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment, completing both major and minor mechanical work as assigned.
• Respond to routine service calls on on-road and off-road equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on heavy equipment including loaders, bulldozers, haul trucks, and skid steers.
• Complete welding, fabrication, and basic machine work as needed.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical systems with appropriate supervision or escalation.
