Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC is seeking a Field Mechanic to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a range of heavy equipment used in electrical construction projects across the region.

The role emphasizes quality workmanship and safety in demanding field conditions. The ideal candidate brings 2–4 years of heavy equipment experience, valid CDL, and the ability to read schematics; strong welding skills and DOT knowledge are a plus.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment or trucks.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics, manuals, and diagrams.
• Strong welding (Stick/MIG) and fabrication skills.
• Must possess a valid CDL (Class A or B).
• Basic understanding of DOT Regulations and safe driving practices.
• Willingness to travel to job sites and oversee equipment on multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, inspect and repair diesel/gasoline engines and hydraulic/electrical systems on field equipment.
• Replace and repair damaged components and perform maintenance checks.
• Perform engine flushing, lubrication, oil changes and preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and repair heavy equipment, trailers, and cranes.
• Complete annual DOT and Crane inspections and support regulatory compliance.
• Travel extensively to project sites to oversee equipment operations.
