Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC is seeking a Field Mechanic to troubleshoot, maintain and repair diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic and electrical systems on heavy equipment across the region.

This role requires welding, fabrication skills, and the ability to read schematics and service bulletins. Candidates should have 2–4 years of experience with heavy equipment or trucks, hold a CDL (Class A preferred) or be able to obtain one, and be willing to travel to job sites.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment (wheeled and tracked) or trucks.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics, maintenance manuals, service bulletins and diagrams.
• Strong welding (Stick/MIG) and fabrication skills.
• Must possess a valid CDL Class A or be able to obtain one.
• Willingness to travel to multiple project sites across the region.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, inspect and repair diesel engines, gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air conditioning systems, compressors, generators, suspensions, brakes, transmissions, fuel injection systems, ignition systems and air tools.
• Replace and repair damaged components.
• Perform engine flushing/cleaning, parts lubrication, oil changes and maintenance checks and all equipment.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repairing all types of heavy equipment, trailers, aerial lift platforms, bulldozer, bucket trucks.
• Annual DOT and Crane Inspections.
• Perform vehicle preventative maintenance.
• Extensive travel required.
