Job summary

Empire Cat is seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician at the Carlin Mine Site to troubleshoot, repair, and recondition Caterpillar and allied machines in a shop setting. You will diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and powertrain issues, use electronic tools and schematics, and communicate findings clearly to clients and management.

Requirements include at least 6 months in a related role, fluency in English, a valid driver’s license, and ownership of personal tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 6 months related experience.
• Must be able to communicate in English.
• Own and maintain required personal tools.
• Completion of eTRAIN test evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and failures.
• Repair, recondition, and maintain equipment and components.
• Prepare service reports.
• Plan and control cost of repair jobs.
• Maintain safety and comply with company policies.
