Job Summary

The Field Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance, repair, and functionality of construction equipment and machinery at job sites.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conducts regular inspections and preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to determine the root cause of equipment malfunctions.
  • Performs on-site repairs and overhauls on construction machinery to ensure prompt resolution of issues and minimal disruption to project timelines.
  • Orders and replaces defective parts, components, or systems and document all repairs and replacements for future reference.
  • Collaborates with construction crews and operators to provide technical support, guidance, and training on maintenance best practices.
  • Communicates effectively with project managers and supervisors regarding equipment status, repair timelines, and potential issues.
  • Maintains accurate records of equipment maintenance schedules, repairs, and inspections.
  • Generates reports on equipment conditions, highlighting potential risks and suggesting proactive measures.
  • Adheres to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Conduct safety inspections on equipment and report any safety concerns or violations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
