Job summary

Hatteras Capital Advisors is seeking a Field Mechanic to diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy equipment both in our shop and at various job sites. This role requires professionalism, technical skill, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a clean driving record.

Daily travel to job sites is required. The position demands a minimum of five years of equipment maintenance experience, a CDL, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of light/heavy equipment maintenance experience.
• CDL required.
• Clean MVR meeting insurance criteria (no more than 3 moving violations in a 3‑year period).
• Ability to pass pre‑employment background check, drug/alcohol screen, and physical.
• Willingness to participate in random drug screenings.
• Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
• Accurate, timely completion of paperwork.
• Team player committed to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment.

• Repair engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.

• Follow SOPs and participate in revisions.
• Light welding and fabrication as required.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Field Mechanic is responsible for performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy equipment both in the shop and at various job sites. This role requires a high level of professionalism, technical skill, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a clean driving record. Daily travel to job sites is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and repairs efficiently and accurately on heavy equipment.
• Travel to job sites to conduct field repairs and maintenance as needed.
• Maintain a clean driving record in accordance with company and insurance requirements.
• Read and interpret operation manuals, service manuals, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Research, request, and track parts required for repairs.
• Repair and service systems including engines, transmissions, final drives, brakes, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
• Operate and test equipment after repair to ensure proper performance and prevent re‑work.
• Document all parts, consumables, and resources used on daily paperwork submitted to the supervisor.
• Support Contour, Carolina Wrecking, and Carolina Concrete operations with G.E.T. removal/installation and other tasks as needed.
• Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and participate in procedure development or revisions.
• Perform light welding and fabrication work as required.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
