Role Summary:

The Field Measuring Technician is responsible for capturing accurate field data using 3D laser scanning equipment and on-site verification methods. This role ensures precise measurement documentation, effective communication with project teams, and professional client interactions throughout the scanning process. The position requires frequent travel to job sites and flexibility in scheduling to meet project demands.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in project pre-scan meetings to understand expectations and requirements for upcoming scan trips.
  • Capture accurate building measurements using 3D laser scanners and supplemental measuring tools.
  • Prepare organized, accurate, and user-friendly measurement documents.
  • Lead post-scan meetings to present findings from job site visits.
  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions with employees, clients, and partners.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to communications from clients and company personnel.
Qualifications:
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency required.
  • Confidence in interacting with employees, clients, and external partners.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow complex instructions.
  • Willingness to cross-train with other company segments, including field operations and production.
  • Physically able to work on commercial job sites, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and other physical activities.
  • Ability to work at heights, including on platforms, aerial lifts, and personnel hoists (training provided).
  • Flexibility to adjust work hours outside of the typical 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. schedule to meet project or client needs.
  • Availability for evening, weekend, and out-of-state travel by car or plane as required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; must be at least 18 years old.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in construction or construction-related fields.
  • Familiarity with 3D scanning technologies.
