Job summary

Nova Engineering & Environmental is seeking a full-time CMT Engineering Field Technician in the Orlando, FL metropolitan statistical area (MSA).

The role involves field testing and inspection of soils, concrete, asphalt, and related materials, plus reviewing blueprints and documenting results for project compliance. Candidates must lift heavy samples, work outdoors, and travel for short assignments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials.
• Ability to routinely lift 40 to 50 lbs. (field/laboratory samples and equipment) is required.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions with PPE.
• Ability to travel out-of-town for short duration assignments.

Responsibilities

• Field testing and inspections of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and masonry mortar/grout for compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, DOT, and/or project specifications.
• Review of blueprints in preparation of field observations on construction sites.
• Documentation of field activities, observations, and testing results on construction projects, and their conformance with project plans and specifications.
• Daily use of Metafield for recording of testing results.
• Communication of field testing results with Construction Services staff, general contractors, and clients.
