Job summary

Atlas is seeking a Materials Technician to join our team in Cleveland (Brecksville), Ohio. The role involves performing field tests to ensure quality and safety of construction projects, including roads, bridges, buildings and other critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Minimum of one year of experience in concrete, masonry, soil, and asphalt testing and inspections preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs construction-related field tests as directed by the CMT Manager and Senior Engineer.
• Travel to construction sites, primarily throughout SW Pennsylvania with some overnight and weekend work.
• Relays information to project managers and engineers with limited in-field decision-making responsibility.
• Transports equipment, test specimens and documents to field personnel, laboratories, clients or other offices; assists with equipment setup.
• Enters daily field observation and summary reports electronically.
• Performs field quality control testing of concrete and masonry construction.
• Performs field density testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials.
• Mentors technicians and interns; supports other departments as needed.
