Job summary

NOVA Engineering & Environmental in Norcross, GA is seeking a CMT Engineering Technician / Special Inspector to join our field team on diverse commercial, industrial, educational, healthcare, transportation, and infrastructure projects in the Atlanta metro area. You will perform field testing and inspections, review plans, document results, and communicate findings with project stakeholders.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction materials testing, construction inspection, geotechnical testing, or related field experience.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and project specifications.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Basic computer skills and ability to complete electronic field reports.

Responsibilities

Perform field testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, masonry, grout, mortar, and reinforcing steel in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, DOT, and project specifications.
Observe construction activities and collect field data on active construction sites.
Review construction plans and specifications in preparation for field observations and testing assignments.
Document testing results, observations, and site conditions using electronic reporting systems such as Metafield.
Communicate testing and inspection results with NOVA project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients.
Assist project teams in identifying and documenting construction issues, deficiencies, and compliance with project requirements.
Maintain and calibrate testing equipment in accordance with industry standards.
Safely work on commercial and heavy civil construction sites throughout the Atlanta area.
