Job summary

Actalent in Madison, WI is seeking a Construction Materials Technician to conduct field testing and sampling of construction materials, perform laboratory tests on soil, concrete, and asphalt samples, and prepare detailed reports of test results.

You will communicate findings to project managers, engineers, and clients, ensuring calibration and maintenance of testing equipment while following safety protocols and company policies.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent construction field experience.
• PCC and Aggregate Technician certifications.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and overtime.
• Ability to drive a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field testing and sampling of construction materials.
• Perform laboratory tests on soil, concrete, and asphalt samples.
• Prepare detailed and accurate reports of test results.
• Communicate findings to project managers, engineers, and clients.
• Ensure all testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company policies at all times.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Document the testing of concrete, soil, and other construction materials in the field.
• Follow SOPs for testing at each construction site.
• Primarily perform work on construction sites, with occasional lab work as needed.
