Job summary

Actalent is hiring an entry-level Construction Materials Technician to perform field and laboratory testing of concrete and soils on active projects. You will review plans, conduct tests, document results, and communicate findings to project teams.

This role offers structured training, safety-focused environment, and opportunity to grow in construction, civil, or geotechnical testing disciplines. Based in New Albany, IN, onsite work with some field exposure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; coursework in civil/construction fields is a plus.
• 1+ year field experience in outdoors/construction environments preferred.
• Experience with ISO/industry testing standards is advantageous.
• Basic math and ability to document results clearly in reports.
• Willingness to lift 20–40 lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specs before field observations.
• Perform field testing of concrete and soil per project standards.
• Conduct laboratory testing following standard procedures.
• Document activities, observations, and results clearly.
• Communicate findings to project teams and clients.
• Calibrate and maintain field and lab equipment.
• Record data using Word and Excel.
