Job summary

Kleinfelder Inc is seeking an ICC Special Inspector/CMT Technician for our Charlotte, NC office to inspect and test construction materials for high-profile projects across North Carolina.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience, relevant certifications, and a strong work ethic. Skills in MS Office are required. We offer competitive wages, insurance benefits, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of special inspection and/or construction materials testing experience.
• Radiation safety training for operating a nuclear density gauge.
• ACI Concrete Field‑Testing Technician – Grade 1.
• ICC Reinforced Concrete certification.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience using a laptop or tablet.

Responsibilities

• Perform field observations and materials sampling/testing during construction.
• Test construction materials including soils, concrete, and steel.
• Write daily field reports documenting compliance with contract documents.
• Cast field samples of concrete for strength verification.
• Provide daily phone updates on project progress.
