Job summary

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates, Inc. in Salisbury, MD is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician.

You will work independently and with our team on land development and construction projects, performing field observations, sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt and steel. The role involves preparing accurate daily logs, communicating progress with project managers, and adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license required.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 60-80 pounds (soil and concrete samples, nuclear gauges, other equipment)
• Ability to work in all outdoor climates and mobility over various terrain
• Attention to detail and quality, while adhering to safety requirements
• Effective verbal and written communication skills required
• Use of company-provided tablet and basic MS Office knowledge
• Ability to perform basic math and use measurement tools
• With training, ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, safety rules, and manuals

Responsibilities

• Field observations at jobsites in the Salisbury region.
• Sampling and testing of construction materials.
• Preparing accurate daily logs that outline inspections and test results.
• Daily communication with PM or Operations Manager regarding project progress
