Job summary

SHI International is seeking a Field Marketing Events Manager to lead end-to-end event programs in the San Francisco Bay Area. You will collaborate with internal and external partners to plan, negotiate, and execute on-site and virtual events while delivering memorable customer experiences.

The role emphasizes budget management, data-driven insights, and cross-functional teamwork. You will develop creative concepts, manage vendor relationships, and drive engagement through strategic event

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, management or hospitality.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role as a team lead or mentor.
  • 5+ years planning and managing events, onsite and virtual.
  • 5+ years of B2B software marketing with demonstrated results.
  • Experience using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio, Survey Monkey, CRM.
  • Experience using Cvent, ON24, and Monday.com for campaigns.

This role involves researching venues, designing creative event concepts, and overseeing budgets while providing customer service and support during events. Additionally, the Events Manager leads team projects, develops virtual event strategies, monitors event performance, and produces insights for future improvements. Candidates are required to be located in and around the San Francisco Bay Area.**Role Description*** Collaborate with various event partners (internal and external) on event details, plan logistics, and summarize event details back to partners for transparency and accuracy.* Research venues to determine availability and feasibility for future marketing events.* Negotiate and execute contracts with caterers, hotels, sporting venues, recreation venues, AV, transportation, and promo suppliers.* Design memorable events, collaborate with team members on larger events, and develop new creative event concepts for management approval.* Strategically plan and execute logistics for all assigned events, working both independently and as part of a team.* Solve issues, communicate needs to venues and teams, and create synergy for marketing events.* Track event budgets and reconcile financials.* Monitor and maintain promotional items for customer drop-offs and specific events, including research, selection, ordering, and distribution.* Provide event day customer service support and greet all attendees.* Lead team projects for vendor shows and marquee field events.* Develop and implement a comprehensive virtual event strategy to drive engagement, lead generation, and brand awareness.* Monitor event performance, gather data, and produce detailed reports to provide insights and recommendations for future events.**Behaviors and Competencies*** Adaptability: Can lead others through change, help teams adapt to new directions, and create a culture open to change.* Collaboration: Can take ownership of team initiatives, foster a collaborative environment, and ensure that all team members feel valued and heard.* Communication: Can effectively communicate complex ideas and information to diverse audiences, facilitate effective communication between others, and mentor others in effective communication.* Creativity: Can apply creativity to complex challenges, collaborate with others to foster creative thinking, and champion creative initiatives.* Detail-Oriented: Can oversee multiple projects, maintaining a high level of detail orientation, identifying errors or inconsistencies in work, and ensuring accuracy across all tasks.* Emotional Intelligence: Can use emotional information to guide thinking and behavior, manage and/or adjust emotions to adapt to environments or achieve one’s goal(s), and help others do the same.* Problem-Solving: Can proactively identify and take ownership of complex problem-solving initiatives, initiate preventative measures, collaborate with others to find solutions, and drive successful outcomes.* Project and Goal Focus: Can create new strategies or visions to enhance project focus and goal achievement.* Relationship Building: Can take ownership of complex team initiatives, collaborate with diverse groups, and drive results through effective relationship management.* Time Management: Can manage time effectively, accurately estimate the time required for specific tasks, balance multiple tasks, and help others in improving their time management skills.**Skill Level Requirements*** Ability to lead projects from start to finish. - Intermediate* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while remaining results-driven and accountable. - Intermediate* Ability to handle a high-volume role and multi-task several projects at once. - Intermediate* Ability to work effectively within all levels of an organization, both internally and externally. - Intermediate* Excellent negotiating skills, able to secure favorable terms with vendors and partners. - Intermediate* Proven experience in managing virtual events, webinars, or digital campaigns. - Intermediate* Proficiency in using virtual event platforms and digital technologies. - Intermediate* Ability to act as a mentor and guide a team on assigned projects. - Intermediate* Ability to present oneself and communicate in a professional manner. - Intermediate* Highly motivated, positive, dynamic, and confident. Goal-oriented with an ownership mentality. - Intermediate**Other Requirements*** Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business with a focus on marketing, management, or hospitality.* 5+ years of experience in a leadership role as a team lead or mentor.* 5+ years of experience planning and managing events, including on-site, virtual, and webinars.* 5+ years of relevant B2B software marketing experience with proven results.* Experience using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio, Survey Monkey, and CRM.* Experience using Cvent Registration, ON24 Webcast production, and Monday.com project management tool.* Local and national travel required (25%).* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.* Extended hours required to complete some special projects.The estimated annual pay range for this position is $90,000-120,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual.
