Responsibilities

  • Own how PAX shows up across dispensaries, including merchandising, product visibility, displays, fixtures, signage, POS materials, and other in-store touchpoints.
  • Build a regular market visitation cadence, audit execution, and work directly with retail partners to resolve gaps.
  • Partner with Sales to prioritize accounts and deploy field resources where they can have the greatest impact on awareness, velocity, and sell-through.
  • Support product launches, promotions, and priority campaigns with consistent retail execution.
  • Monitor competitive activity and retail trends, translating field observations into recommendations for Sales and Marketing.
  • Own the PAX Brand Ambassador program, including recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, and ongoing management.
  • Set clear brand standards for how ambassadors represent PAX with consumers, budtenders, and retail partners.
  • Equip the field team with the product knowledge, tools, talking points, and materials needed to educate consumers and drive conversion.
  • Build efficient market coverage plans based on account priorities, sales opportunities, launches, and local events.
  • Establish KPIs and track activity, execution quality, and impact.
  • Build strong relationships with budtenders, store managers, and other influential retail partners.
  • Develop an ongoing budtender engagement strategy spanning product education, training, incentives, sampling or gifting, and relationship-building.
  • Create scalable training programs while maintaining the high-touch approach that matters in dispensary retail.
  • Gather feedback on products, consumer behavior, competitive activity, and barriers to sell-through.

THE OPPORTUNITY

PAX is seeking a Field Marketing Manager to bring our brand and products to life in New Jersey, with a particular focus on licensed dispensaries and priority retail partners. This person will turn national brand and product strategies into locally relevant programs that drive awareness, education, trial, and sell-through. They will work closely with Sales, Trade Marketing, Brand, Creative, and retail partners to ensure PAX shows up consistently and compellingly wherever consumers encounter us.

The ideal candidate understands both brands and retail. They can build a thoughtful market plan, establish strong relationships with dispensaries and field teams, and personally ensure that an activation is executed beautifully. They are comfortable spending significant time in market and know how to turn field observations into actionable business insights.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Elevate the Retail Experience
  • Own how PAX shows up across dispensaries, including merchandising, product visibility, displays, fixtures, signage, POS materials, and other in-store touchpoints.
  • Build a regular market visitation cadence, audit execution, and work directly with retail partners to resolve gaps.
  • Partner with Sales to prioritize accounts and deploy field resources where they can have the greatest impact on awareness, velocity, and sell-through.

Lead the Field Team

Build Retail Advocacy
  • Build strong relationships with budtenders, store managers, and other influential retail partners.
  • Develop an ongoing budtender engagement strategy spanning product education, training, incentives, sampling or gifting, and relationship-building.
  • Create scalable training programs while maintaining the high-touch approach that matters in dispensary retail.
  • Gather feedback on products, consumer behavior, competitive activity, and barriers to sell-through.
Bring PAX to Life
  • Develop and execute a market-level activation strategy spanning retail pop-ups, vendor days, consumer events, community partnerships, and sponsorships.
  • Own activation execution from planning through wrap-up, including staffing, logistics, vendors, materials, product, compliance, and the on-site brand experience.
  • Translate national campaigns and product launches into locally relevant experiences.
  • Build repeatable activation playbooks and evaluate programs based on participation, engagement, sales impact, and other relevant KPIs.

  • Spend approximately 60 to 70% of your time in market.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5 to 7+ years of experience in field, retail, or experiential marketing for a consumer brand.
  • Demonstrated success planning and executing retail programs, activations, and events.
  • Strong relationship-building skills across sales, retail, vendors, and external partners.
  • Excellent project management skills, with attention to timelines, logistics, and budgets.
  • Experience gathering market feedback and translating it into useful business insights.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Comfort working independently and spending significant time in market, including occasional evenings, weekends, and travel.
  • Experience in cannabis, CPG, beverage alcohol, consumer electronics, wellness, or another regulated consumer category is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with licensed retailers, cannabis consumers, and state-specific compliance.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for cannabis and creating exceptional consumer experiences.
COMPENSATION

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $80,000 to $110,000, plus equity, benefits, and mileage reimbursement. Actual compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, skills, location, and other job-related factors.
