Role Overview:

Field Managers lead a team of merchandisers executing brand strategy in natural and conventional retailers in the North Atlantic region. They are responsible for driving best-in-class retail execution across their region through consistent field presence, store-level relationship building, and hands-on leadership. They coach, develop, and hold their field team accountable to clear expectations and results, while building a strong and engaged team culture. Field Managers use reporting and field insights to identify opportunities, solve problems, and ensure regional priorities are being executed consistently.

Successful Field Managers lead humbly through influence and inspiration, embody a servant leadership mindset, and have the desire and ability to engage their teams while driving results. Our Field Leadership team works collaboratively across Retail Execution, Business Development, and Brand Experience to turn priorities into action, solve problems quickly, and deliver strong results for our Brand Partners, retailers, and Dirty Hands.

What You’ll Own:
Leading Field Execution / Team and Brand Ride-Alongs
  • Spend the majority of the week in market, running ride-alongs with the field team to observe execution, coach in real time, and reinforce strong behaviors and execution standards.
  • Facilitate ride-alongs with Brand Partners throughout regional accounts, building relationships that strengthen Brand Partner confidence in Dirty Hands.
  • Conduct store visits and audits to identify execution gaps, coaching opportunities, and store-level relationship opportunities before they show up in the data.
  • Own and grow store-level relationships across the region.
  • Proactively identify execution risks and opportunities in the market, taking action and bringing forward solutions when additional support is needed.
Team Coaching & Performance Management
  • Lead one-on-ones and team calls that establish clear goals and expectations, deliver consistent feedback, and support individual development.
  • Own performance management, including annual and merit reviews, self-assessments, and documented feedback throughout the year.
  • Partner with the Field Director or Associate Field Director on corrective action and performance documentation, ensuring conversations are timely, consistent, and well supported.
  • Actively coach every member of the team and build a bench of future leaders, including positioning an Associate Field Manager, where one is on the team, for growth into a future Field Manager role.
  • Build and maintain a strong regional team culture centered around engagement, accountability, collaboration, recognition, and results.
  • Lead and engage team members effectively across a geographically dispersed market, maintaining strong communication, connection, and accountability.
Reviewing Reporting & Ensuring Data Integrity
  • Review store visit, execution, and audit data through our retail execution platforms to identify gaps, ensure field reporting accuracy, and drive accountability across the region.
  • Use historical missions, audits, and execution results to identify patterns, coaching opportunities, and improvement over time.
  • Set, track, and report on brand-specific and quarterly account goals with necessary stakeholders.
  • Use data alongside field observations to understand market performance and determine where additional coaching, attention, or action is needed.
Communication, Collaboration & Stakeholder Calls
  • Maintain consistent communication with the team to drive execution against regional, retailer, and Brand Partner priorities.
  • Serve as a key communication link between the Retail Execution Director team, Brand Experience, Business Development, and the field team, ensuring priorities and relevant field insights move effectively in both directions.
  • Represent the market on regional and cross-functional calls, including Brand Partner priority calls and Field Leadership calls, bringing relevant insights, risks, opportunities, and wins back to the broader Retail Execution team.
  • Communicate emerging challenges and support needs proactively, while bringing forward potential solutions whenever possible.
People & Regional Operations
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard new field team members, including participating in and hosting panel interviews for internal promotions.
  • Train new hires on execution standards, systems, expectations, and Dirty Hands culture, helping them ramp to full productivity quickly.
  • Provide continued coaching and field support beyond initial onboarding to reinforce expectations and ensure successful integration into the team.
  • Complete approvals, expense reporting, scheduling, and other required administrative responsibilities accurately and on time.
  • Review regional roster, org chart, and systems information for accuracy and communicate needed updates to the appropriate partners.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience
  • 3+ years of team management or people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, and employee development.
  • 2+ years of merchandising, retail, and/or sales experience.
  • 2+ years of retail industry experience preferred.
  • Experience successfully leading and engaging a geographically dispersed or remote field team.
Core Strengths

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, engage, develop, and hold a team accountable to results.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, take ownership, and move solutions forward.
Technical Skills
  • Comfortable working across modern business and technology platforms, including Google Workspace, Airtable, AI-enabled tools, CRM/retail execution platforms, and other evolving systems used to manage communication, reporting, and field execution.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly as technology, systems, and business needs evolve.
