Job summary

The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation is seeking personnel to assist in general maintenance, repair, and infrastructure improvements at State facilities. Duties include plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry, and some medium/heavy equipment operation.

Responsibilities include hazardous tree removal, sewage/garbage cleanup, snow removal, and possible basic marine mechanic tasks under supervision.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time maintenance or mechanical work under supervision.
• Two-year technical school certificate program or NYS CSEA-P Applied Skilled Trades Certificate Program.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general maintenance, repair and infrastructure improvements at State facilities, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry and equipment operation.
• Hazardous tree removal assistance.
• Assist with snow removal and sewage/garbage removal as needed.
• May assist Marine mechanic with basic repairs under supervision.
