Job summary

City of Loma Linda seeks a Field Maintenance Technician I to perform maintenance, construction, and repair across streets, parks, medians and parkways. Duties include operating small power tools and service vehicles, maintaining facilities, and supporting safety protocols.

The position follows a 4/10 schedule (Mon-Thu 6:00 AM–4:30 PM) and requires a high school diploma, valid CA driver license, and ability to obtain a Class B CDL within one year. Respond to emergencies after hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, custodial, maintenance, or landscaping preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain Class B CDL within one year.
• Must respond to emergency calls after hours including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of tasks involved in construction, maintenance, or repair of Streets, Parks, Medians and Parkways.
• Maintains streets, parking lots, storm drains, street lighting, trees, lawns and landscaped areas.
• Operates service vehicles and power-driven equipment; may work after hours for emergencies.
• Oversees care, maintenance and safe operation of equipment; maintains inventory of tools and parts.
