Job summary

OPB is seeking a Field Maintenance Engineer to support the Eastern Region from Bend, OR. The role blends fieldwork and technical problem-solving, with occasional tower climbing and remote site maintenance.

You will troubleshoot broadcast equipment and assist with installations and repairs across TV, FM, microwave, and fiber networks. The position requires comfort with travel, working outdoors year-round, and strong safety practices.

Qualifications

Experience in hands-on field environments and outdoor work is required.
Strong technical aptitude and safety commitment are essential.
Ability to work independently and in small teams.
First aid and wilderness safety awareness are beneficial.

Responsibilities

Travel to transmitter sites in 4WD trucks or snow vehicles.
Perform routine or emergency maintenance on TV, FM, microwave, and related systems.
Erect, repaint, reinforce, or rebuild site structures as needed.
Document installations, upgrades, and operational parameters.
Work 3–5 day trips to remote transmitter sites as needed.
