Job summary

Wabtec Corporation seeks a maintenance technician to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on switcher and local locomotives. You will follow safety standards and work with other team members on special assignments, including field service in the Bronx area.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, hands-on maintenance and safety training may be required, and prior diesel or electrical repair experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; training in maintenance and safety certification may be required.
• Knowledge of basic mechanics and testing procedures.
• Experience in diesel engine or electrical repairs desired.

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for timely and effective maintenance procedures.
• Fuel, sand, and daily inspections of locomotives.
• Performs preventive maintenance and basic repairs; troubleshoots diesel engines and electrical systems.
• Field service work and travel to locations in and around Bronx, NY.
• Maintain maintenance records and logs; update and sign-off on work orders.
• Coordinate with maintenance crew and ensure safety regulations are followed.
