Job summary

Ceco Concrete Construction is seeking a Field Technician II to conduct advanced testing, inspections, and QA on concrete construction sites. You will support field operations, ensure materials meet specs and safety standards, and mentor junior technicians.

The role requires reading structural and architectural drawings, coordinating with teams, and traveling up to 70%. You will work in dynamic field conditions and contribute to project success with practical problem solving.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience in field engineering/lay-out.
• Good communication skills – written, verbal, interpersonal.
• Extensive travel up to 70%.
• Proficient at reading and understanding contract drawings, including structural and architectural drawings, with ability to cross check between documents.
• Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task in fast paced environment.
• Bilingual Spanish/English.
• Possess knowledge of construction field engineering from pre-construction to completion.

Responsibilities

• Review project documents.
• Provide horizontal and vertical control using Total Stations.
• Assist in basic layout and field engineering activities: establish control lines, layout foundations, decks, embeds, and other items per contract.
• Perform surveying activities and document engineering work.
• Maintain proper usage and storage of surveying equipment.
• Audit as-builts and ensure updates are recorded per company standards.
• Oversee Field Layout Technician I’s.
