Job summary

IKON Construction, LLC is seeking a Layout Field Engineer to lead line-and-grade layout on commercial projects. You will operate Total Station and Theodolite equipment, verify dimensions against drawings, and ensure high-tolerance layouts meet schedule requirements.

The role focuses on QA/QC, coordination with project teams, and safety on site. 2+ years in field engineering with concrete experience is preferred; travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in field engineering, surveying, and layout for a large-scale commercial self-perform GC or concrete contractor.
• Some self-perform concrete experience is preferred.
• Projects over $1 million are common in this role.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain permanent horizontal and vertical control for line-and-grade portions of the project.
• Use Total Station, Robotic Total Station, and/or Theodolite with data-surveying software to establish survey and layout points.
• Validate dimensions by reviewing drawings and identify discrepancies before execution.
• Verify form elevations, embed locations, and anchor-bolt positions against design.
• Coordinate layout deliverables with placement crews and project leadership.
• Support safety practices and protect the layout crew on site.
