Job summary

American Contracting & Environmental Services (ACE) is seeking a Skilled Laborer to support field operations on water and wastewater construction projects in Perryman, MD. The role involves assisting with pipe installation, concrete work, excavation, and general site support in a hands-on outdoor environment.

This is a full-time, on-site position with potential overtime. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of construction experience, are reliable, and able to work in a team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years of construction experience.
• Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor construction environment.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Ability to follow direction and work as part of a team.
• Successful completion of drug screen, physical, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with rigging and handling of materials and equipment.
• Support installation of piping systems including ductile iron, PVC, copper, and steel.
• Assist with pipe testing and layout activities.
• Support formwork construction, rebar placement, and concrete pouring and finishing.
• Perform rough and finish carpentry tasks as needed.
• Assist with excavation, backfill, and site preparation.
• Operate basic equipment such as forklifts, small backhoes, and aerial lifts.
• Support demolition and site cleanup activities.
• Unload, organize, and store materials on site.
• Work alongside skilled trades to support daily field operations.
• Follow all safety procedures and jobsite expectations.
