Job summary

Q-Lab Corporation is seeking an experienced Field Repair Technician in the Los Angeles, CA area to service the West Coast and support North America. You will work hands-on with electromechanical lab instruments and learn from a customer-focused team.

Responsibilities include diagnosing faults, repairing assemblies to manufacturer specs, and providing remote guidance as needed while traveling up to 50% of the year, often staying up to a week for on-site support.

Qualifications

• Recognized electrical or mechanical qualification with apprenticeship and 5 years of experience.
• Experience working with technical laboratory equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and manuals.
• Diplomacy and tact in reporting non-conforming events to management.
• Proficient in Windows, typing, and CRM systems.
• Travel domestically and internationally; valid driving record.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot malfunctioning lab instruments or test equipment and test mechanical/electronic components for root cause failures.
• Perform hands-on repair and tests per manufacturer specifications.
• Travel domestically and internationally up to 50% annually, sometimes up to a full week for on-site support.
• Provide phone/email customer guidance to resolve instrument issues and coordinate parts or remote resolution.
