WSP in the U.S. is seeking a Construction Materials Technician for our Albuquerque, NM team.

The role involves performing field and laboratory tests to determine physical properties of construction materials, with emphasis on accuracy, integrity, and compliant reporting. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of construction materials testing experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in Construction Materials Testing.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • Ability to safely operate laboratory test equipment and follow procedures.
  • Ability to prepare reports and documentation with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tests and investigations in the field or laboratory to determine physical properties of construction materials.
  • Maintain integrity and accuracy in testing and reporting.
  • Follow prescribed procedures and standards for field and lab tests.
  • Collect soil, asphalt and concrete samples and prepare them for testing.
  • Prepare analyses, reports and technical drawings as needed.
  • Operate computer systems and peripheral equipment for data entry and reporting.
  • Maintain results logs and document findings.
  • Collaborate with Engineers and Scientific staff on test and design efforts.
  • Set up, calibrate and maintain equipment; may involve some lifting.
  • Travel to job sites; some overnight travel required (approximately 15%).
