Job summary

FM, established in property risk management, seeks a Jurisdictional Consultant I/II to inspect boilers and pressure vessels in Washington from Tacoma to the Oregon border. You will learn FM procedures and NBIC rules, work supervised by the Operations Chief Inspector, and travel about 30% to on-site locations.

The role emphasizes meeting NBIC qualification requirements, acquiring NB Commission within 12 months, and leveraging strong technical knowledge with solid communication and organization

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or an equivalent credential; an Associate’s degree from a 2-year technical school or a high school diploma (or equivalent).
• National Board commission and state certifications preferred to review NBIC repairs.
• Must meet National Board In-Service commission qualification requirements and obtain NB Commission within 12 months.
• Experience with boiler and pressure vessel construction, operation, inspection, and related equipment is advantageous.
• Strong communication, listening, and writing skills with good time management.

Responsibilities

• Perform jurisdictional inspections of boilers and pressure vessels in Washington per NBIC, FM rules, and state regulations.
• Confer with clients, evaluate findings, and document inspections under FM procedures; coordinate with Operations Chief Inspector.
• Travel approximately 30% to inspections across assigned territory.
