Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Field IT Engineer to ensure effective IT operations at field locations across the assigned territory. You will plan, coordinate and implement IT activities, maintain field infrastructure, and communicate plans between IT and field teams.

The role requires 2–4 years of decentralized IT support experience, CCNA certification, and substantial travel (up to 75%). Remote work from home is possible on non-travel days, with work across Tennessee, Kentucky and Indiana.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of computer network experience.
• Experience with Cisco VOIP/UCCE.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide level2 support for WANs, LANs, field servers and field apps, including on-call and on-site support.
• Liaise between field staff, management, vendors and Corporate IT.
• Identify and report proactive IT solutions to save costs and improve efficiency at field locations.
• Participate in installation, replacement, disposal of field computer hardware.
• Manage and maintain IT infrastructure at field locations.
• Troubleshoot Cisco VOIP phone systems including user changes and moves; coordinate with 3rd party consultants.
• Build and manage vendor relationships for IT services and supplies.
• Provide timely reports on all activities.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

**POSITION SUMMARY:** The Field IT Engineer’s role is to ensure the effective IT operations of field locations in alignment with Republic Services’ business objectives. The incumbent will plan, coordinate and implement IT-related activities and projects according to company standards. The Field IT Engineer maintains a strong relationship with field management and staff as well as the responsibility for communicating technology plans and issues between IT management and field locations. **PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Provide effective level two support for WANs, LANs, field servers and specific field applications including on-call and on-site support/remediation as required.* Act as an effective liaison between field staff, management, vendors and Corporate IT.* Identify, implement and report proactive solutions that provide cost savings and/or improve operational efficiencies at field locations.* Participate in the installation, replacement, disposal of field computer hardware.* Manage and maintain IT infrastructure at field locations.* Troubleshoot and administer Cisco VOIP phone system installations including user add, changes and moves.
