Job summary

Bosch Building Technologies North America is seeking a skilled technician to assist with the installation, wiring, testing, and commissioning of Life Safety, Fire Alarm, and Security Systems in commercial environments. You will interpret drawings, install low-voltage wiring, and help generate as-built documentation while complying with safety standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and at least one year in construction, proficiency with MS Office, and strong communication skills

Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school diploma.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in construction environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Understanding of the construction industry including safety, Fire Alarm codes, etc.
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to empathize issues and work toward successful outcomes with customers and employees.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret drawings to assist in installing Life Safety Systems, Fire Alarms and Security.
  • Install conduit and wire for Life Safety Systems, Fire Alarms and Security.
  • Terminate low voltage wiring accurately.
  • Provide information and support for other contractors on project site.
  • Troubleshoot during startup or commissioning of Life Safety Systems, Fire Alarms and Security.
  • Provide documentation including daily reports, etc.
  • Assist in preparing of As-built drawings.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and communicate relevant project information to supervisors.

Job Description

Job Summary: Assist with the installation, wiring, testing, and commissioning of Life Safety, Fire Alarm, and Security Systems. Support project teams by interpreting drawings, installing and terminating low-voltage wiring, troubleshooting system issues, maintaining project documentation, and preparing as-built records. Ensure compliance with safety standards, communicate project updates effectively, provide support to contractors and customers, and maintain a professional work environment while contributing to successful project completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret drawings to productively assist in installing Life Safety Systems, Fire Alarms and Security.
  • Assist Installing conduit and wire for Life Safety Systems, Fire Alarms and Security.
  • Assist with accurately terminating low voltage wiring for Life Safety Systems, Fire Alarms and Security.
  • Provide information and support for other contractors on project site.
  • Assist as required troubleshooting efforts during either the start up or commissioning of building Life Safety Systems, Fire Alarms and Security systems.
  • Provide support to contractors to solve building operating issues that go beyond the Life Safety Systems, Fire Alarms and Security system operations.
  • Provide documentation including daily reports, etc. as required for assigned projects.
  • Assist in preparing of As-built drawings.
  • Understand complete scope of work.
  • Submit timesheets daily with at most accuracy.
  • Effectively communicate all relevant project information to supervisors.
  • Adhere to company safety procedures.
  • Ensures team works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials, and cleans up all installation debris.
  • Maintains a professional manner to enhance the company’s image with customers.
  • Completion of daily reports.
  • Assist in maintaining all necessary job files and records.
  • Report all team member accidents and incidents.
  • Apply knowledge of all tools and equipment according to established procedures.
  • Continually seek opportunities to increase knowledge, customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of high school diploma.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in construction environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Understanding basic computer operation and proficiency in using email for communication and coordination
  • An understanding of the construction industry including safety, Fire Alarm codes, etc.
  • Clear and concise ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • An ability to understand empathetically the issues and perceptions others have and to creatively and successfully work through these issues to achieve a successful outcome and customer and employee satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in Life Safety Systems & Fire Alarms and low voltage installations
  • Advanced knowledge of fire alarm parts/material is required
  • In-depth understanding of troubleshooting and interpreting complex special Fire Alarm system diagrams.
  • Strong familiarity with the construction industry, particularly in regards to safety and Fire Alarm codes.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm parts/material is required
  • A clear ability to work with electrical equipment such as volt meters, amp meters, etc.
  • The ability to troubleshoot basic electric circuitry including reading and interpreting Fire Alarm design and special system diagram and advanced blueprint reading.
  • Blue Card Holder

  • Compensation: $22 - $27 hourly
  • Working Hours: This position generally works Monday- Friday, overtime and on call when necessary
