Job summary

TRUNO, Retail Technology Solutions is seeking a Field Installation Technician in the United States. You will build out, maintain, and troubleshoot rapidly expanding infrastructure, traveling to install, service, and repair machines and other equipment.

You will analyze site conditions, configure systems, and work with on-site users to determine requirements, making field-based decisions independently. Expect a flexible schedule and extensive travel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience with POS and networking is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform staging activities, including system configuration, testing, and troubleshooting with customers and developers.
• Analyze site conditions and system requirements to develop installation and implementation plans.
• Test and validate equipment connections and functionality for proper installation.
• Liaise with vendors and IT staff for problem resolution.
• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
• Document service actions with reports and logs.
• Travel weekly to training locations and customer sites as needed.
• Provide service, support, installation and training to customers when required.

The Field Installation Technician will help build out, maintain, and troubleshoot our rapidly expanding infrastructure. As part of a skilled engineering team, this role involves frequent travel to install, service, troubleshoot, and repair machines and other technical equipment. The Field Installation Technician is responsible for managing and monitoring systems and infrastructure while installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools. This individual analyzes site conditions and consults with on-site users to determine system requirements, working independently to make field-based decisions on system implementation. This role requires extensive travel and the ability to work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform staging activities, including system configuration, testing, and troubleshooting in coordination with customers and developers
• Analyze site conditions and system requirements, and consult with on-site users to develop and execute installation and implementation plans
• Test and validate equipment connections and functionality to ensure proper installation
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
• Assist in the continuous improvement of the installation and set-up process
• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
• Document service and installation actions by completing forms/reports and expense logs
• Maintain close interaction with warehouse staff to verify equipment for upcoming installs
• Travel to the home office (Greenville, SC/Lubbock, TX) for continued training, as well as specialized product training
• Maintain rapport with customers by examining complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques, and recommending system improvements
• Maintain customer confidence by keeping service information confidential
• Provide service, support, installation, and training to customers, if necessary
• Make independent decisions on site pertaining to system implementation
• Work a flexible schedule that may include weekends, nights, and early mornings

Qualifications

A Field Installation Technician at TRUNO should have:

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• Bachelor's degree (preferred)

Experience

• One to three years related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience (required)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (required)
• Experience in general retail, grocery, and/or foodservice industries (preferred)
• Point of Sale and networking experience (preferred)
