Nextlink, an ISP serving Texas communities, seeks a Field Installation Technician. You will perform on-site installations, service visits, and troubleshooting to restore and improve customer internet and voice service.
You’ll survey sites, install equipment, and connect wiring from outside to customer locations, while maintaining safety and quality. A high school diploma is required, and you’ll pass background checks and a drug screen.
Company Overview We are a Hudson Oaks, Texas-based Internet Service Provider (ISP) delivering High Speed Internet and Voice Services throughout multiple states to residential, business, K-12 Education and government customers. The Field Installation Technician requires excellent customer service skills and technical ability. The position requires completing customer installations, service visits, on-site troubleshooting, and recovery of equipment. Work is performed on site at customer locations both with a physical aspect of installing Internet equipment, as well as a technical portion of updating databases.
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Working in outdoor elements such as cold, hot, precipitation and wind Working in elevated places such as towers.
Frequently moving, transporting, positioning objects of at least 60 pounds or more Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffoldings, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms Must be able to climb roof tops of all types and to perform job duties from high places Frequently required to use hand and power tools Must have the ability to climb extended heights upwards of 200 feet Employee weight and tools combines may not exceed 300-pound limit as specified by the manufacturer of safety equipment.
40 hours minimum, flexible schedule Overtime as needed On Call as needed.
