Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Field Installation Technician to plan, execute, and lead upgrades of package controls on industrial gas turbine packages. You will interpret engineering drawings, perform wiring and component installations, and mentor junior technicians in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.

Expect substantial travel (>75%), coordination with cross-functional teams, and delivery of high-quality upgrades that meet client specifications and project timelines.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years turbo-machinery experience including basic understanding of customer balance of plant equipment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and lead removal, modification, or installation of package controls and package systems upgrades per project ACS.
• Lead and train less experienced technicians; support PSU Value Streams and field installations.
• Coordinate safety, EHSS policies, and tool provisioning; ensure conformance to drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
• Serve as project leader and customer liaison on select lower-complexity projects.
• Assist commissioning FSR with cold loop checks and demobilization.
