Job summary

Motive is seeking an Installation Specialist to install, maintain, and repair telematics devices in customer vehicles. You will manage on-site training, trials, RMAs, and lead strategic deployments while collaborating with Field Engineering to drive improvements.

The role requires extensive hands-on installation experience, strong electrical knowledge, and the ability to travel 50–75% of the year. A valid driver’s license and the capability to lift up to 50 lbs are needed to succeed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Extensive experience in technical equipment installation, service, and repair, particularly in automotive or related industries.
Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle wiring and electrical systems; able to read wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

Install Motive product suite across vehicles and assets, independently or with partners.
Conduct on-site customer training and support trials; manage RMAs and lead deployments.
Perform on-site quality checks and audits on third-party installers; ensure adherence to best practices.
Collaborate with Field Engineering to inform product enhancements from field experience.
Create installation guides for custom configurations and unique customer requests.
