Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a field-installation technician to install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, and related devices on fleet assets. You will perform 12V/24V wiring, route and secure wiring, and test system functionality across mobile sites.

The role requires hands-on automotive and electrical experience, a valid license, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Travel to customer sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical, or installation experience.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
• Read wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work around vehicles and trailers.
• 21+ years of age.
• Telematics/GPS/ELD installation experience is a plus.
• Experience with Samsara, Geotab, Motive, Verizon Connect, or Lytx is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, cameras, and sensors.
• Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and fleet assets.
• Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations.
• Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality.
• Document completed installations with photos, device information, and service notes.
• Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time installations.
