City of Durham seeks a qualified inspector in the Planning & Development Department to ensure utility and road construction meets codes and specifications. The role involves on-site inspections, testing, reviewing plans and permits.

You will work with Right of Way and private utility inspections, and coordinate with engineers and contractors to resolve issues. This is a full-time, on-site position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Three years of related experience.
• Valid NC Class C driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Aufgaben

• Observes water distribution system installations and tests concrete work.
• Documents construction projects and records.
• Interprets construction specs and reviews plans.
• Captures site images and monitors erosion control.
• Oversees Right of Way inspections and permits.
• Inspects driveways for density and grade.
• Approves street acceptance after inspections.
• Ensures permit compliance and responds to citizen concerns.
